GOLD began science observations on 2018.278 (October 5) and continued with occasional interruptions through 2018.348 (December 14), at which time the Channel B operations were suspended while the Channel B detector problems were addressed.
Channel B operations resumed on 2019.075 (March 16). See 2019 for a description of resumed operations.
For the duration of the initial observation period, the GOLD instrument used the NI1 Scan Sequence 0, illustrated in the gif to the right.
From 2010-2310 UTC Channel B alternates hemispheres every 15 minutes.
From 2310-0010 UTC Channel A scanned the Northern Hemisphere while Channel B scanned the Southern Hemisphere on a 15 minute cadence.
